Used BMW S1000RR Parts Guide: Generations, Fitment and What's in Stock

The BMW S1000RR is one of the most popular superbikes ever built, which makes good used OEM parts easy to find if you know which generation you're shopping for. This guide covers how the generations break down, which parts riders need most, and what we have on the shelf right now.

S1000RR generations at a glance

The S1000RR launched in 2009, got major updates for 2012 and 2015, a refresh for 2017, and an all-new bike for 2019. Parts often carry over within a generation but frequently don't cross between them, and the 2019-on bike shares very little with earlier models. The S1000R naked bike and the HP4 share many components with the RR of the same era, but always confirm by part number.

Parts riders need most after a crash or tip-over

  • Bodywork: side fairings, upper fairing, tail and belly pan
  • Controls: clip-on handlebars, levers, switches and rearsets
  • Cooling: radiators and oil coolers, which often take the hit in a low-side
  • Chassis: subframes, swingarms, wheels and, after a big crash, the main frame
  • Lighting: headlights, tail lights and mirrors

Fitment tips before you buy

  • Check the part number. Year ranges are a starting point. The number on the part, matched against the OEM parts diagram for your bike, is what confirms fit.
  • ABS and non-ABS. Brake lines, wiring and some brackets can differ between versions.
  • Electronics. ECUs, dashes and ignition parts are often paired to the key or immobilizer, so check whether a set includes the matching keys.
  • Ask us. Send us your VIN or part number and we'll confirm fitment before you order.

Every part ships within 1 business day, is photographed as the actual item, and comes with a 30-day return policy.
